mmmh, the McRib. The famous, back by popular demand McDonald’s sandwich. The meaty goodness of ribs in a sandwich, how can you go wrong? Blah! No thanks.
The McRib is the perfect example of fake food made to look real. They even shape the patty to make it look there are ribs in it! But underneath that tasty looking bun and bit of lettuce there is some real scary fake-food.
There are more than 70 ingredients that make up the McRib. Amazingly enough one of them is actually pork. But there is also a plethora of chemicals, including one that can be found in shoes (Registered dietician Cassie) and azodicarbonamide, which is used to bleach flour.
And if that is not enough to convince you not to order the McRib, keep in mind the pork they choose to make it with is not the high quality, good for you pork you can bar-b-q with. It is the low grade, less expensive innards and castoffs. Think hotdogs, but worse.
Next time you are considering some fast-food, think about the McRib and all of the yummy chemicals that come with it. Eating a shoe may be healthier!
